URPoint Details
Brownes Folly Nature Reserve & walks, Prospect Place, above the village of Bathford, the small car park is off Prospect Place at the top of the steep hill.
Take a glorious walk from Browns Folly Nature Reserve, starting from the Crown Inn. 2½ miles of rather strenuous uphill all the way, fairly steep in places, to a height of 600ft. Stout footwear recommended in wet periods, but otherwise comfortable walking shoes/boots suitable.
Through the village of Bathford with its many old buildings and Church, where the old parish stock are kept in the Norman-style porch, then climb to Avon Wildflife Trust Nature Reserve where, from vantage points, fantastic of the Avon Valley and far beyond can be enjoyed.
Although arranged as a circular tour, walkers may feel the urge to follow the waymarked nature trails before starting their downhill return journey.
In any event, when passing through the reserve, please keep strictly to the footpaths.
