URPoint Details
Some of the cottages and houses date back to the 17th century in this large village built in terraces in the west Dorset hills.
Houses on one level look down on the chimneys of those below.
The 19th century Church of St John the Baptist is built of brown stone overlooking the village.
It has a 15th century tower, a seven-sided Jacobean pulpit and an 18th century picture of Moses and Aaron on boards.
