URPoint Details
This delightful village with some 16th century buff-washed and heavy thatch cottages with little dormer windows is pure bliss.
Builders mainly used flint and cob, a remarkably strong mixture of clay, straw and animal hair.
The old Church of St Andrew dates from 1259, has an elegant tower 100ft high and is decorated with gargoyles and a golden weather vane. There is a finely carved stone porch, and interesting memorials.
