The granite domes of the Red Hills overlook the village and at Beinn na Caillich at 2400ft has on its top a large cairn under which supposedly lies the remains of a 13th century Norwegian princess.

Situated on Broadford Bay looking to the little island of Pabay known for its fossils and beyond to the Applecross mountains on the mainland. Beinn na Caillich rises to 2,403ft and Bainn Dearg Mhor to 2,323ft in the Broadford group of Red Hills dominate the village to the west.  At the foot of the hills is the ruined Coire Chatachan a former Clan Mackinnon home. The coast road leading northwest towards Sligachan provides superb views of mountain and sea.
