Brigstock - Church of St Andrew

Church St, Brigstock NN14 3EX

URPoint Details

The Church of St Andrew with its Saxon tower (850-900) is one of the best examples in the county, probably built as a refuge for forest dwellers from hostile tribes and Danish invaders.

Its bell used to be tolled three times a day, until fairly recent times, to guide travellers lost in the woods.
