Breedon Hill dominates the village and is one of the major landmarks in the District.
On a clear day its summit offers a magnificent unimpeded view in all directions.
The hill was inhabited in the Iron Age and is encircled by earthworks dating from the 1st century BC, locally called the Bulwarks.
An old conical lock-up (restored) can be found beside the main road at the Castle Donington end of the village.
The village of homely cottages surrounds the green on which stands a 1914-18 War Memorial in the Italian style.
The parish of Breedon also takes in the hamlets of Wilson lies to the north and Tonge to the east of Breedon.
