Brede Place is an imposing Tudor mansion and it was here that Peter Pan was invented based on the life of a pirate named J W Mahler who turned rector and was blackmailed by a man called Smith, when author J M Barrie visited the village.
The Early English and Perpendicular church has an interesting 16th century Oxenbridge Chancel.
