URPoint Details
Breamore House is late Elizabethan, built in 1583 (rebuilt and parts restored in 1856 after a fire destroyed parts), has a splendid collection of pictures and furniture contributed to by 10 generations.
The stables which were built in about 1700 have been used to show the vehicles of the horse era. A fine collection includes the Red Rover, which was the London to Southampton stagecoach. Examples of a farm worker's cottage, dairy, wheelwright's shop, blacksmith's forge, farm brewery, cider barn, saddler's shop and cobbler's shed help take the visitor back to the pre-electricity period.
