URPoint Details
One of Humberside's remaining area of semi-natural ancient woodland, reputedly hunted by the Mayor and Aldermen of Grimsby for wild boar in medieval times and the origins of Grimsby's Coat of Arms.
The woods provide a glorious show of wild flowers in spring and are much favoured by birdwatchers all year round. The woods consist of a mixture of deciduous trees, conifers and shrubs attracting a good variety of woodland bird species to breed. Visitors are requested to keep to the pathways.
