Although in the 10th century was a busy cloth-weaving area the houses of yellow Bath stone nestling in a wooded dell give this delightful little town its charm.
There are many historic buildings including the Hall in Woolley Street dates from 1610, a six arched bridge and the two central arches date from the 14th century.
The tiny church of St Lawrence is Saxon and is only 25ft 2inches long and 25ft 5inches high.
