URPoint Details
The Bracklinn Falls are a series of waterfalls north-east of Callander on the course of the Keltie Water, where the river crosses the Highland Boundary Fault. In 2004, a long-standing steel footbridge over the falls was washed away by severe floods. In October 2010, a new, 20-tonne wood-and-copper footbridge, spanning 20m across a very deep gorge, was hauled into place by hand because the location made it impossible to use a crane. In July 2011, this new bridge won an award at the International Footbridge Award.
