Strung out across the farming country to the west of Winslow are Botolph Claydon and the 18th century Botolph House, a dower house for the Verneys of Claydon.
East Claydon, A place of attractive black-and-white cottages near the church almost totally rebuilt in 1871 to Scott\'s designs with its demon-faced angels on the chancel arch.
Claydon, by far the largest village of the quartet, has a heavily restored church and a library housed in a building that was erected as a school.
