A small village where two famous people once lived, Isaac Walton, son of Izaak Walton of the Compleat Angler was vicar in the lovely little church.
The 16th century theologian Richard Hooker was also vicar. The box pews date back to Jacobean and Georgian times and a Jacobean three-decker pulpit with tester dates from 1633.
The church also has a 14th century nave and chancel and a 16th century transept.
