URPoint Details
The Borbach Chantry chapel (Churches Conservation Trust), built around 1333 by Robert de Borbach is all that remains of the 14th century parish church, demolished and replaced in 1868. Restored as a motorway chapel with a splendid series of Evelyn family and other monuments were moved into it. Most remarkable are two from the 17th century, one to John Evelyn and the other a large composition, probably by John Bushnell, to Robert Pierrepoint.
