The Boar's Head Hotel is on the Ripley Castle Estate just north of Harrogate.
Originally a coaching inn on the Leeds to Edinburgh run, today it is a flourishing, award wining hotel . Owned by Sir Thomas and Lady Ingilby whose ancestors have lived in the nearby castle for around seven hundred years.
With 23 individual bedrooms, in a relaxed atmosphere and set within luxurious and historic surroundings, this is a must stop and experience! The Courtyard rooms and suites are perfect for guests requiring a ground floor room, family-room, or a room with their own external doors. For dog friendly rooms, we have a limited number of rooms available in the Courtyard.
Known for its high standard of cuisine, the main restaurant has two AA rosettes and an outstanding wine list. There is also a candlelit bistro restaurant and bar while accommodation is in twenty-five, beautifully furnished en-suite bedrooms.
In 1990 Sir Thomas and Lady Ingilby re-opened the former Star Inn as the Boar's Head Hotel to the immense relief of all concerned - even the Vicar blessed the beer taps on opening night.
Ripley Castle is open to visitors and guests at the Boar's Head are most welcome on a guided tour
