URPoint Details
The village has a long history and is mentioned in detail in the Domesday Book.
The present church of St Andrew and St Peter replaced an older site, probably on the same site, of Norman construction with later additions dating from the 14th and 15th century. It is the largest church in what was the Blofield Hundred and owed its size and importance to the prosperity of the wool trade and the residence of the bishops as lords of the manor.
