In the 19th century Blairgowrie and Rattray became one by a bridge over the River Ericht a fast flowing salmon and trout stream.
North of the town the river rushes through a 200ft deep gorge overlooked by the Rattray’s 17th century mansion.
With such a wonderful climate and soil around this area makes it is just perfect for growing raspberries, and where almost three quartes of the Western world’s commercial crop is grown.
