A delightful village by the River Garry in a setting of wood’s, hills and moors, with excellent trout and salmon fishing and golf.
The 16th century Parish Church of Kilmaveonaig was rebuilt in 1794 and in St Bride’s churchyard is buried Claverhouse of Dundee slain in 1689 at the battle of Killiecrankie.
To the north is Glen Tilt extending into the mountains of the Forest of Atholl with Ben-y-Gloe rising to 3,671ft to the east.
Near the Old Bridge of Tilt are the Falls of Fender. Farther north the glen is hemmed in by steep hills and extend some six miles in a straight line and the river flows through a granite dyke.
