URPoint Details
St Werburgh's Church, Blackwell has been a site of worship dating back to the 7th century. The original church was built of wood. The Domseday Book mentions the Blackwell had a resident priest, which was unusual at that time. It is thought that the Normans built the stone church shortly after their arrival. The church has six bells and outside, some very old and interesting tomb stones. There is a ramp suitable for wheelchairs at the main entrance.
