Cakemuir Castle by the Cakemuir Burn was built in the 16th to 18th century and is associated with Mary, Queen of Scots and Bothwell.
The chamber in which the queen is said to have changed her page’s clothes after escaping from Borthwick Castle in 1567 is on the first floor.
