Black & White Village Trail - Weobley

Weobley , England

URPoint Details

Discover the charm of the picturesque Black and White villages of Herefordshire. Enjoy the unspoilt countryside of the English-Welsh Border where past and present blend in a timeless tapestry.

The black and white village of North-west Herefordshire are amongst some of the most attractive in England. Relatively unspoilt, they contain many fine examples of timber-framed buildings, most of which are of considerable age. Their churches, too, are reminders of the long history of this area, containing records of people and events going back to the time of the Domesday Book and before. Today, these villages still possess that feeling of community which many town and city dwellers would dearly love to regain. An hour or two spent at any of the places on the trail, visiting the church, the pubs, looking at the houses and exchanging a word with the villagers, will give a taste of this desirable quality of country life.

This circular route is set out in a clockwise direction and, although the commentary starts in Leominster, the route can be joined at any point. It is best to proceed in the direction given as this lessens the number of awkward right hand turns. Be prepared for farm
