Black Bourton - Church of St Mary the Virgin

St Mary the Virgin's Church earliest parts are Norman, and reached its present form about 1500. The 13th century wall paintings were covered at the reformation and revealed when the church was restored in 1866. However, against the vicar's wishes, they were again whitewashed and were not uncovered until 1932.
