Bishopstone - Church of St John the Baptist

An Ebble Valley village may be small but the cruciform church of St John the Baptist is quite remarkable. Almost all of the church is in the Decorated and Perpendicular style and the chancel and south transept have magnificent stone vaulting and superb windows. The roof bosses are interesting and the pulpit may have come from Spain. The church is noted for the Decorated priest’s doorway.
