A picturesque village across the Thames from Marlow. The Thames flows alongside the churchyard and Norman West tower. There are many woodland walks, and seen to advantage from the river is Bisham Abbey, a 13th century house.
In spite of its name, it was never a monastery but in the early years was the house of the Knights Templar until their suppression in 1307.
