A charming village and resort on the River Tay opposite Dunkeld where on Birnam Hill King Duncan supposedly held his court.
Near Birnam House is a hangman’s oak where justice was meted out to the wild clansmen of the hills.
To the southeast is Murthly Castle standing in wooded grounds in a bend of the River Tay and beyond it is Caputh Bridge.
