Open early February to 23 December, Tuesday to Friday and Bank Holiday Mondays, 10am-5pm. Saturday & Sunday 2-5pm. Admission charge, children free; guide dogs only; picnic sites. Front entrance has three steps and ramp, both with handrails. Two floor levels internally connected by easy stairs and disabled lift. No changes in floor levels within each floor. Galleries and communicating spaces designed to be fully accessible. Disabled toilet to Lower Level. Hearing Loop, handling objects. Assistance dogs welcome.
A friendly local museum with connections illustrating the geology, natural history, local history and archaeology of the area.
Visitors can see a wide range of period costumes dating from 1740 to 1960 here, together with lace, dolls, toys and many other items which were in use at the time, all displayed in scenes and tableaux. The Museum is situated in the Old Manor Gardens with the preserved remains of the Old Manor House.
