URPoint Details
A most attractive town beside the River Mole has a charming walk along the riverbank passing a weir on the way to one of the prettiest villages in Surrey, Brockham.
The impressive church of St Michael has a chest believed to be pre-Norman and cut from a log that was an oak tree when Christ was alive.
In the tower is a piece of Saxon stonework as well as a Norman arch.
Within the church is a map of the manor in 1634, showing among enclosed fields the surviving narrow strips of medieval farming.
