Berkhamsted The Church of St Peter, is a large cruciform building of flint with the outstanding feature of a blue and gold clock on a timber belfry. The 13th century chancel, nave transepts and central tower date from the 13th century. St Catherine’s Chapel is 14th century. From the 15th century is St John the Baptist’s Chapel and the clerestory in the nave, and the screen in the west tower. A carved chest is over 300 years old and the pulpit, decorated with angels is 19th century.
