A 16th century stone house with mullioned windows and moulded brick chimneys.
The interior includes intricately carved oak staircase, decorated plaster ceilings and oak panelling also family collections of furniture, ceramics and paintings.

The garden of a small Elizabethan house built by the Benthall family who moved away in the 18th century, but repurchased the property in 1934. Home of George Maw and his plant collections 1860-90. Subsequently the home of Robert Bateman, son of James Bateman of Biddulph Grange, who was responsible for the present garden and has replanted under the guidance of Graham Thomas.
