URPoint Details

Bunyan bought a barn and orchard in 1672 for 50 pounds and had it converted to a place of meeting.

The Meeting House was built in 1707 and in 1849 the present building was erected.

The bronze doors at the entrance are considered to be a work of outstanding artistic value by the sculpture Frederick Thrupp in 1876.

The ten panels in the doors depict scenes from 'Pilgrims Progress' and starting from the bottom left hand corner can be read from left to right.
