URPoint Details
One of the prettiest villages in Wales (in my estimation), with a lovely bridge over the River Glaslyn, some great little shops and scenery which is quite unbelievable.
Situated where two narrow and deep valleys meet here and forms a bottleneck known as the Pass of Aberglaslyn.
One claim to fame this village owns to is the story of the faithful hound Gelert.
Supposedly a farmer arrived home to find his baby dead he shot the dog thinking it had killed the baby. Upon going outside the back, he discovered a dead wolf, apparently killed by his faithful dog.
The dog's grave is in the middle of a field; just follow the lower side of the river.
