There are several ancient buildings in Basingstoke and the parish church of St Michael is just one. The church has Norman origins, a 13th century Chapel of the Holy Cross and 16th century stained glass windows.
Church Cottage beside the church is an Elizabethan dwelling.
The Parish Church of St Michael is mainly Perpendicular in style has been restored. Inside are the coat of Arms of Elizabeth I, James I and William III and some early 16th century glass
