Bartley Reservoir is the reservoir for drinking water in Birmingham, and covers 460,000 square metres, about 0.65 miles long, over 450m wide, and about 60 feet (18 m) deep at the dam and the surface area is 110 acres
Known as the place where Bill Oddie did much of his early birdwatching, and features in his books (notably Bill Oddie's Gone Birding) and television programmes. The reservoir is also home to Bartley Sailing Club.
