A village of Danish origin and to its west lies marshlands leading to the River Waveney an ideal spot for bird watching.
The Church of St John the Baptist dates from 1200 and contains many interesting items such as a 1410 wall tapestry and the bell in the tower which has an inscription ‘may the bell of St John resound for many years’.
