An impressive picture of sea, sand and mountains which turned the port of Barmouth on the Mawddach estuary into a holiday resort in the 19th century.
A long promenade runs behind a sandy beach to the tiny harbour, today a haven for lobster boats and pleasure craft.
Dinas Oleu, 4 acres of land on the hill above the town, was the National Trust's first property. It was given to the Trust by a local landowner in 1895
