The forecourt and walled garden remain from the formal setting given to this ancient moated manor house in the early 18th century. The Victorian attempt to give the house a wooded setting partly survives in the rhododendron plantings and the walk around the chain of 15th century fish ponds. The walled garden was formerly divided by yew hedge in to the vegetable garden and parterre garden was opened by a single space by Thomas Ferrers who came to Baddesley in 1940.The courtyard garden was devised in 1890 with the Ferrers' arms vividly planted on the lawn.
