Ashampstead stands amid the pleasant wooded hills that stretch between the Kennet and Thames valleys. As well as the village itself, there are several groups of cottages and the lovely Ashampstead Common, a popular wooded spot.
Here again, the church (of 13th century date) includes important wall paintings, dating from the mid l4th century and including easily recognisable scenes from the Testaments.
Above the tie-beam between nave and chancel, is a portrayal of Christ in Majesty.
