A small crofting and fishing village lies on the stormy northern coast just off the Bettyhill to Thurso road with a pleasant bay and rocky shores.
Four miles west is the remote Kirtomy Bay to the north is Kirtomy Point where boats may pass under rocks by means of a curious tunnel.
