The ancient Royal Burghs of Anstruther, Easter and Anstruther Wester lie on either side of the harbour which is still an important fishing port.
The manse at Anstruther Easter dates from 1590 and both burghs have fine little churches.
Anstruther pronounced Anster. A place abounding in streams.
