URPoint Details

A small village at the western end of Strath Barn with fine fishing in Loch Freuche and the River Bran and a good centre for exploring the Glens as well including Glen Quaich, Glen Cochill and Glen Almond.

The road through Glen Cochill leads to Aberfeldy on part of General Wade’s old roads.

To the south the Wade road goes through the delightful Sma’ Glen.

To the northwest the road leads through Glen Quaich and climbs to over 1,670ft before descending very steeply with a poor surface and sharp bends to Kenmore on Loch Tay.

To the southwest beyond the beautiful Glen Almond rises Ben Chonzie at 3,048ft.

In 1715 the Clans met here and were armed for the Jacobite rising.
