A pretty village on the River Arun spanned by a fine bridge, with a ruined castle, Norman church, thatched cottages and colourful gardens.
The village overlooks Amberley Wild Brooks some 30 square miles of grazing marshes, ideal for walkers and bird watchers.
The castle was built in 1380 for the Bishops of Chichester and the ruined gatehouse and walls enclose an ancient manor house.
