The village is sheltered by hills and tall trees, with simple yet cared for cottages beside a fast flowing river and an old pack horse bridge.

The Church of St Nonna has a tall west tower, a fine Norman font over 70 bench ends dating from the 16th century, and the rood screen extends the width of the church.
