URPoint Details
On a side road sign posted Aldeborough, is Alby with its church dedicated in honour of St Ethelbert, King of East Anglia in the 8th century. It is a neat building of cut flint and freestone in the Early English style of architecture.
Over the parish boundary is Thwaite, called Tuit in the Domesday Book, and it would seem that there was a church there at least by 1035.
