URPoint Details
This ancient church of St Peter and St Paul’s Church, (Churches Conservation Trust) sits prettily in Albury Park, away from the village. The Norman church stood on Saxon foundations and in about 1140 the tower was built over the original chancel. The south chapel and aisle were added in the 15th century. The interior is uncluttered and light with interesting monuments and a 15th century wall painting of St Christopher.
The south chapel was lavishly remodelled by Pugin as a mortuary chapel for the Drummonds.
