Open all year, by prior arrangement only. Admission charge. General car park; tearoom and shop.
Disabled visitors may park close to Hall entrance; level cess to ground floor of Hall, stairs to upper floors. Mostly level access to garden, but paths in Wilderness area are narrow and may get muddy - the circular route is not accessible for wheelchair users; steps to access garden buildings/follies; - but these can be viewed from the path; some wheelchair users may need assistance; level access to cafe with restricted room, waitress service.
A fascinating mix of traditional Cheshire 'Black and white', dating from the 16th century and mellow-brick Georgian additions. The medieval great hall is one of the finest in the country, and houses a famous 'Father Smith' organ, once played by Handel. Fine wooded gardens surround the house.
