URPoint Details
This tiny village has a claim to fame when 17 year old Catherine Foster in 1846 poisoned her husband. She was the last woman hanged publicly in Bury St Edmunds. The village pump adjoins three thatched terrace cottages and on the end wall of the last cottage is a picture of her.
The church has an exceptionally fine military brass dated 1302, and has also some good bench-ends. The Crown has good bar meals, nice restaurant and an outside garden where children are well catered for with a play area.
