Situated between Strath Bran and Glen Carron, dominated to the north by the peak of Fionn Bheinn which rises to 3,060ft, beyond which lies the lonely loch Fannich with the Fannich peaks in the background.
To the west on the road to Loch Maree is Loch a'Chroisg or Rosque beyond which is a climb is made to the head of Glen Docherty from which there are splendid views especially of Loch Maree.
The road to Kyle of Lochalsh crosses the Drum Alban watershed west of Loch Gowan to the southwest of which Moruisg rises to 3,033 ft in Glencarron Forest.
To the southeast of Achnasheen is Sgurr Vuillin at 2,845ft overlooking the lonely Glen Conon with the remote Loch Beaunachan.
