Achnadrish is at the North end of Mull, surrounded by woodland gardens, (with a waterfall) and hidden amongst trees and moorland at the head of a valley which opens out to Loch Frisa. It dates from 1695 and was once a shooting lodge for the Quinish estate. Now, it is the home of Michael Story who welcomes guests to stay foin either of the two self-catering holiday cottages available.
The cottages are beautifully furnished and dogs are welcome in one of the cottages.
Specimen trees and shrubs, Rhododendrons (late May) and beautiful birds and you may spot a Great Spotted Woodpecker or two.
The Isle of Mull has plenty to offer guests with Duart Castle, Torosay Castle and gardens, loch fishing, Whisky Distillery at Tobermory, The Macquarie Mausoleum (which all Australians should visit), waterfalls, mountains and sheer beauty.
The West Coast of Scotland has some of the most beautiful and romantic island retreats in the world, and Mull is one of the best (certainly the most accessible 40 minutes ferry from Oban which is 2 hours from Glasgow).
