URPoint Details
A quaint town with a picturesque centre in Strath Tay with a distillery which has been producing fine whisky since the 1840's. There is a working watermill and Wade’s Bridge built in 1733 and near the bridge is the monument to the Black Watch Regiment founded in 1739.
To the north beyond the lochs of Glassie and Derculich rises Farragon Hill at 2,559ft.
To the south and reached by footpath from Bank Street on the Moness Burn are the three Falls of Moness.
The road to Amulree goes through the lovely Glen Cochill and climbs to a height of over 1,400ft among lonely moors with Meall Dearg rising to the south at 2,258ft.
