Founded in 1780, near the 'granite city' is golf history. It is a par 72, 6922 yards course designed by Robert and Archie Simpson and James Braid.
The Royal Aberdeen Club was founded as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen, and as such it recognised as the 6th oldest golf club in the world.
Tom Watson included this 36 hole course in his pilgrimage to the finest dunes courses in Great Britain. It is interesting to note that the five-minute rule for searching for a lost ball originated here.
